Immerse yourself in the holiday spirit at the White’s Christmas Craft Fair where you can explore a variety of stalls in their stunning 16th-century barn, offering locally handmade gifts perfect for your loved ones (or a special treat for yourself!). Experience the historic house adorned with festive decorations and enjoy enchanting yuletide performances by the Prize Old Mummers and Alton Community Choir in the atmospheric Great Parlour. Indulge in the warmth of traditional mulled wine and mince pies from the old kitchen, or savour a sip of Gilbert White’s gin. Don’t miss the opportunity to join them for a tasting session with Gilbert White’s brewers, featuring a special wass-ale brewed during this festive season, inspired by a traditional Scottish strong ale recipe with hints of Christmas pudding flavour.
Embark on a delightful journey through town on Thursday, December 7th from 5 PM- 8 PM, as it comes alive with the festive spirit! Immerse yourself in the warmth of the season as over 30 independent shops extend their hours, creating the perfect opportunity for you to complete your Christmas shopping in style. Stroll along the picturesque High Street, explore the inviting Square, wander down Chapel Street, peruse the offerings at the Central Parade, meander through Pages Court, and discover the hidden treasures along Lavant Street – all participating in this special late-night shopping event. From unique gifts to one-of-a-kind finds, these independent shops are ready to enchant you with their offerings. This event isn’t just about ticking items off your gift list; it’s an experience, a chance to engage with the local community, and an opportunity to uncover the distinctive character of Petersfield. Free parking will also be in Waitrose Central, Festival Hall, Swan Street and Castle Carpark from 3 PM onwards so you can enjoy a full evening of local shopping!
Eat, drink & be merry this Christmas – come and enjoy a traditional black tie soiree in aid of the Town Mayor’s Charities. This event will be filled with a traditional Christmas atmosphere so that you will be able to relax, converse with friends and enjoy an evening of reflective nostalgia and festive joy. They will have some gentle live background Christmas music, Christmas songs sung to and a Christmas storyteller, all popping up at various times throughout the evening. There will also be a buffet of canapés prepared by the excellent chefs from the Natural Food Deli. You will receive a genuine cocktail or mocktail and the bar will be fully staffed. A wonderful way to usher in the Christmas season. The night starts at 8:00 pm with carriages at 11:30, in the Rose Room, Festival Hall, Petersfield. Tickets are £20 (this includes entertainment, first drink and canapés)
On the 8th-9th December from 6.00 PM – 7.30 PM, you can go to Stansted House to enjoy a guided tour of the house during the festive season. The house will be beautifully decorated for the occasion. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed in the Main Hall with delicious festive refreshments. Then, you will be taken on a tour of the Edwardian property. As you explore the State Rooms, you can admire the traditional decorations and learn about the Bessborough family, who resided in Stansted House between 1924 and 1993. Next, you will head downstairs to explore the extensive Servants Quarters and learn about the people who lived and worked in the house. This is the perfect opportunity to experience a true ‘Upstairs, Downstairs’ moment with your loved ones this Christmas.
Thrilled to announce the return of the spectacular Petersfield Christmas Festival for 2023! They are gearing up for another incredible event, bringing together an array of awesome market stall holders, and brilliant entertainment, and welcoming thousands of friendly local faces to the town! Responding to popular demand, this year’s festivities will extend into a festive Saturday evening. From 7 pm to 9 pm on Saturday, December 9th, the heart of Petersfield will be bustling with festive cheer. The air will be filled with the aroma of mulled wine as attendees enjoy live Christmas music on stage in The Square. The atmosphere will be electric with not only the enticing aroma of CHURROS but also lots of family fun and entertainment. The RMW’s Charity Tractor Run will roll into town, featuring tractors adorned with festive lights, all for a charitable cause. On Sunday, December 10th, the full-day market will be in full swing, boasting over 100 wonderful stalls to fulfil all your Christmas shopping needs. The festive tunes, flowing mulled wine, and delectable food to warm your spirits will once again fill The Square. Throughout the streets, families can enjoy entertainment, including a live Nativity petting zoo and thrilling rides. It’s a weekend packed with festive joy and community celebration!
