Spend your Leap Day in Petersfield

Every four years, we’re lucky enough to get an extra day – February 29th, the leap day. This bonus 24 hours gives us a chance to break from the routine and make some memories. Petersfield, with its charming cafes and scenic parks, offers plenty of opportunities to make the most of this special day. So, if you find yourself in Petersfield on this rare occasion, don’t worry! Take a Morning Stroll

Kick off your day with a leisurely walk around Petersfield. With so many beautiful spots just minutes from town, there’s no shortage of options for enjoying nature. Explore the tranquil surroundings of the Physic Garden, breathe in the fresh morning air, and take a moment to appreciate the beauty of your surroundings. 

And of course a town favourite and a classic -The Heath. Enjoy a loop around the water’s edge or take yourself into the adjacent fields and woodland to explore the beauty that surrounds this historic habitat.

Have a shop

Indulge in a little retail therapy at the local businesses in town. With a bustling community of lovely traders offering a wide selection of products, you’re sure to find something that catches your eye. The Folly Market

Just a short walk from the High Street, you’ll find the charming oasis known as the Folly Market. Browse through stalls filled with unique finds, handmade crafts, and delicious treats – the perfect way to spend a leisurely afternoon. Grab a sandwich from Chinwags sandwich bar and have a mooch.

Sunset at Butser

As the day winds down, head to Butser Hill for a breathtaking sunset, picnic or walk. Just a 10 minute drive Southbound to Portsmouth from Petersfield, it is a lovely change of scenery with an accessible car park and picnic benches at the top for all to enjoy. Spread out a blanket, unpack a delicious spread of snacks, or hot chocolate and enjoy the view.
